Dear fellow Arcadians:
As most of you know, I have been off the city council and out of public office for about 8 years. However, I have remained active in matters involving our city and recently chaired the Arcadia Citizens Financial Advisory Committee. We worked hard and developed a solution to reducing the unfunded pension liability for Arcadia employees from approximately $150m to $22m, saving the city of Arcadia $65m in interest.
As a concerned Arcadian, I want to encourage you to support Sharon Kwan as our District 2 city council member in the upcoming November election. Sharon has been a dedicated and committed Arcadian serving on numerous boards and committees to support our community. She believes Arcadia is at a critical juncture in our history as it relates to safety, development, and maintaining financial stability. I strongly believe she is the most qualified candidate to be our voice in District 2.
Sharon’s major competitor is Bob Harbicht, a multi-term city council member who has also lost several elections. I served with Bob for many years and firmly believe that he does not care about Arcadia the way Sharon does. In the time I served with Bob, I have no memory of any significant legislation he wanted to pass that had a positive effect on Arcadia.
It is time for our district to elect a new, energetic, and committed candidate to the city council who is willing to work hard and serve all Arcadians. Sharon knows what is going on in Arcadia today and knows how to be a great leader.
Please think twice before you vote.
